The Blakemobile

Talk about off-topic … For awhile my wife and I have been watching the Australian series on public television (via BBC), “The Doctor Blake Mysteries”, set in the 1950s.  The good doctor drives a vehicle I could not for the life of me identify.  Usually I can work these out, or get pretty close, without resorting to the Internets, but not so this time.  Turns out that his car is a modified 1930s-era Coventry Standard with more modern Holden running gear.  See an explanation here.  And here’s more about the Standard Motor Company.
