Bumped into the guy in a local shopping mall today, and got my first live look at his newly refurbished wheels.  (Will try again when weather and lighting permits …)

Today while browsing through some of my archive of old never-before-processed black & white negatives, I came upon these from my year of residence in 1972 in Pinetop, Arizona, far from population centers and high in the White Mountains near the Fort Apache Indian Reservation.  Here we see my ski-bum friend who lived in a schoolbus in the forest and ran a trusty 356 as his daily driver year around, despite the heavy snowfalls that might delay things for a day or two now and then … myself, I left my 911 behind in LA for the occasional return home, and maintained a VW camper with winter tires as my Arizona rig.
