Wandering over to Eric’s shop following a morning sprint with the Blue Rascal, I find Dennis.
He takes me into a paint booth where his latest creative expression reposes, this a two-foot or so sculpture carved in wood of his interpretation of the #3 Porsche 917L long-tail from Le Mans 1970.
Dennis tells me of his plans to be at the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix in April (some info here, and here for last year’s event), where the 917 sculpture will be presented to his host, and where he will display other sculptures.
And here is the real thing, in action at the 1970 Le Mans competition:
